Dana Mattioli
Author & Sr. Reporter, Tech Investigations
The Wall Street Journal
12:00 noon-1:00 pm EDT
Pulitzer finalist Dana Mattioli is a veteran reporter for The Wall Street Journal. Mattioli has written investigative pieces and WSJ front page stories about Amazon since 2019, receiving a number of awards including a Gerald Loeb Award, the Woman's Economic Roundtable award and SABEW awards. Her new book, "The Everything War: Amazon's Ruthless Quest to Own the World and Remake Corporate Power," is the first untold exposé of Amazon’s endless strategic greed, from destroying Main Street to remaking corporate power, in pursuit of total domination, by any means necessary.
In 2023, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) filed an anti-trust lawsuit against Amazon which opened a window into one of the most consequential business stories of our times. With unparalleled access, and having interviewed hundreds of people, from Amazon executives to large competitors, to small businesses who rely on Amazon’s Marketplace to survive, Mattioli explores how Amazon was driven by a competitive edge to dominate every industry it entered. While some companies dominate one or two industries, Amazon now leads in several. Mattioli provides us with a unique perspective on how Amazon’s dominance was by design from the very beginning.
RMS Board member Marie Driscoll of Driscoll Advisors will be leading the conversation.
